MEaning behind our name and logo
Founder Megan Van Dyk ventured upon the hospitality world in 2012, just after graduating with an event management degree from University of Central Florida's Rosen School of Hospitality. The following years included hands on experience that would be essential to helping run her own business. From production coordinating to entertainment services, she gained a well rounded resume. It was in 2014 when she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Jade Sky, changing her world immediately.
Whilst being a stay at home mother and fiance, Megan would continue to work various fields in the hospitality industry. Experiences ranged from a pastry assistant in a kosher catering company to exhibitor relations for The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Megan also found herself working kids birthday parties, where she discovered a newfound love for event services, leading to an inspiration to start her own little business doing glitter tattoos and eventually expanding to other event needs.
Questions then arose; Contemplating what she wanted her business to represent she thought about what motivated her? What brought happiness to her? What would bring life and meaning to her brand? Her answers were her daughter, her family and love. That is when she named Jade Sky Events after her daughter.
Not only would the two hearts in the logo represent her and her daughter, but they would represent love. With all the chaos and uncertainty in the world love is what drives and inspires us. It is what brings people together to share life-long memories.
That is what she wants her brand to bring to life and represent.
